Portraits
Elena does not work for creating portraits from photographs. Photos can be used as some supporting materials, but the majority of work is done during personal sittings.
Every portrait is unique because the artist needs to capture not only the visual similarity of a person, but also understand and through the pictorial methods to express such things as inner characters of a person, being it kindness or severity, ease or impulsivity of soul and mind.
This can never be achieved through creation of a portrait from the photograph. The personal meeting with the model and conversations held during sittings are very important both for the model and for the artist. The model will receive unforgettable emotional experience by feeling him/herself being a part of a process. The artist will be able to better understand inner world of the model and through the painting process translate these feelings to the portrait.
